The conversion factors
All factors are exact definitions, so the only rounding is in the display: 1 lbf = 4.4482216152605 N, 1 kgf = 9.80665 N, 1 kip = 1000 lbf, 1 in = 25.4 mm. Tables are rounded to the nearest whole lbf or kgf; the converter shows up to four decimals.
Recording a proof test? Use the free pull-test record sheet (kN or lbf, mm or in). Testing to failure? The ultimate-load statistics calculator gives mean, s, CoV and mean − k × s. Tester reads in psi or bar? The gauge pressure to load calculator converts the reading. Installation torque in N·m or ft·lbf? Use the torque converter.
The converter, inside the full report workbook
The Fastener & Anchor Pull-Test Report Templates pack has a kN/lbf/mm/in converter sheet next to a 40-row proof-test report with automatic PASS/FAIL, ultimate-load statistics, a calibration log, a printable procedure checklist and a standards index. $49 one-time, from Quality Tester Solutions LLC, the company behind Force-Test pull testers.
