The conversion factors

All factors come from exact definitions, so the only rounding is in the display: 1 psi = 1 lbf/in² = 6,894.757 Pa (1 lbf = 4.4482216152605 N, 1 in = 25.4 mm), 1 bar = 100 kPa = 0.1 MPa, 1 kgf/cm² = 98.0665 kPa. The psi table is rounded to 0.01 bar and 0.001 MPa, the bar table to whole psi; the converter shows up to four decimals.

This page converts gauge units only. To turn a gauge reading into load you also need the ram's effective area: the gauge pressure to load calculator does the conversion and prints a load chart, and the ram effective area calculator estimates the area from the piston and inner seal diameters. For stress results (MPa, psi, ksi) use the stress unit converter.

Record the results in the full report workbook
