Stress Unit Converter: MPa (N/mm²), psi, ksi, kgf/cm²

Type a value in any box and the others update. For comparing a pull-off, bond or bolt stress result with a spec written in the other unit system.

The conversion factors

All factors come from exact definitions, so the only rounding is in the display: 1 MPa = 1 N/mm² = 145.0377 psi, 1 psi = 0.006894757 MPa (1 lbf = 4.4482216152605 N, 1 in = 25.4 mm), 1 ksi = 1,000 psi, 1 kgf/cm² = 0.0980665 MPa. The MPa table is rounded to whole psi and 0.01 ksi, the psi table to 0.001 MPa; the converter shows up to four decimals.

This page converts units only; acceptance values come from your spec. To get a stress from a test load: the pull-off strength calculator (load and dolly diameter), the adhesive anchor bond stress calculator and the bolt tensile stress area calculator. For gauge pressure use the pressure converter, for loads the force unit converter.
